Saturday, December 13

Went up on the 8.27 with Nellie. Escorted her to office. Went on to Messrs. Hughes & Co & bought 51 slides of Oxford. called at Pater's office then went on to Bromley to spend the day with Pat. Arrived there about 12.0. Amused ourselves till lunchtime with the Motor bike. Had my first ride on one - in the garden. It is beautifully easy to control.

In the afternoon we rode to Woodford - he on the motor, I on his push bike - where I had several more or less long spells on the bike. It runs very well and has quite a good time of speed. I must get one [???] [???].

Got back to Bromley for tea at 4.0. It was Mr & Mrs Newton's "at home" day but the only visitors were Mr and Mrs Fleet who stayed till about 6.45. We had high tea at 7.0 After tea Mr Newton & I talked shop! In other words Oxford. He seemed quite pleased to have someone to talk to about it, and brought out his old Oxford album.

About 8.15 I left and just caught the 9.5 at Baker St nicely arriving at the Victoria Hall just as the sale closed so that all I had to do was help pack up. Mater took £10.0.0 exactly. Sale £106 without the refreshments.
