were ordered to play as ladies! I only made 128 (20 hands). The winner got 747 It was 1.30 when I got back to my tent to find a chit waiting for me asking me to play football at 8/0 am. (the same morning) Thursday Aug. 3 However I timed out, and we had quite a good game against no. 12 Reserve. We lost 1-0 though we didn't deserve to. After Breakfast I had the monthly inspection of kit &c. I found we were not much short this time, & all that had been indented??? for! Wrote that after Tiffin but mail time. Friday. Aug 4 Course continued to day. Went to the mule lines about 10. No. 8 is a beet sendup??? Told GLover to give him some hot beer. Saturday Aug 5. No. 8. bad again to day. Got the vet to see him He gave him a mixture of Chloral Hydrate & Amm. Carb. Went to him again at 2/0. Gave him another dose. Dawn in the lines again at 5/0 & stayed there till 8/0. Dosed the mule twice &
