Saturday June 24th We packed up immediately after Breakfast & keeping a coolie with us with our Lunch sent off our goods & chattels to Ganderbal??? while we had another go at Bear. We went to the same three mullahs as yesterday and in the Same order. The first one we drew blank. The second out came a black bear. I got one shot at him. Lamont with his double band - two. Neither of us hit him! The third mullah no bear at all appeared. We weren't altogether satisfied that it wasn't the guns fault so we put up a handkerchief on the opposite side of the mullah about where the bear came out yesterday. I had first shot aimed at the center & got the left hand bottom corner. Not much wrong with the gun! Lamont had a gun aimed at 6% & got the top central. Not much wrong with the gun. So we decided that under excitement men don't shoot straight! ???diagram??? A. my point of aim. B. Position of Shot. C. Lamant's point of aim. D. Lamont's shot. After that little exhibition we settled down to the serious manner's of affairs. Our failure to get any tea had not affected our appetites in the least. Tiffin finished we paid off the army of beaters & set out in two ponies to Ganderbal and the housebout. I'm not in love with
