we were both wet through to the skin before we got back. However it is all in the game & when we get our bear all will be forgotten? I had a letter from Pull to day. He says the "A" Cry??? Curse started on Jule 9th so they will just finish on the day I get back. We can then fire away with "B". We went out again in the evening. g??? we heard from a coolie that the bear had gone down to the river the assumption was that when it came on to rain he would decide to go back to bed. We waited for him from of 5/30 to nearly 8/0 but he didn't turn up. Though the rain did. This time we had our waterproofs with us so didn't get quite so damp. Friday June 23rd It was raining when we woke up to day. Consequently we didn't get moving but about 10/30. We had beaters out to-day. A weird crowd they looked too. The first mullah we drew blank. The second go we had more luck as a big black bear suddenly emerged in a small gap in the undergmuth??? but so suddenly that I had no time to get a shot in. Lamont fired but apparently missed. We then went to the other side of the mullah. We saw another bear again this time & had two shots at him.
