along the same track as last night but were less successful as we didn't even see a bear. We stalked two "Viali Cheeses" (black things) in great style to find that they were really patches in the khud ???. We got back about 2/30 am and were soon asleep. Monday June 9th The cooly ??? came out with the mail today. He arrived about 9/0 before we had thought of getting up. The English mail effetively woke us. Most of the rest of the morning was spent in answering it. We went out about 4.0 under the leadership of a cooly from one of the villages who exports??? any amount given at a particular spot. It was about 5 miles away. When we got there we found any amount of works given. Some of them apparently only a few hours old. But the jungle was so thick that it made shooting an impossibility because of the difficulty of tracking his landship in the thick undergrowth. We wandered about a bit and waited at one or two likely spots in vain hopes. The cooly then suggested getting bretens??? but was promptly choked off by the Shikan who said we had much better get back to out "khene". So we returned for
