a curt "Go to Blazes", to egging them on to laying out all their stock. + trying nothing. We bought nothing at all from any of them. Part of the fun was in watching those who were waiting their turn, who were eagerly watching how the man in front was getting on! Monday June 12th Spent the morning looking at various shops + longing for the wealth of a Croessus or a Count of Monte Christo. I shall soon have to begin to lay in a stock of presents for fond friends + relatives against my return home. We went to Cox's and collected our letters + to our joy got a home mail. I also got a windfall as Cox's have made a muck of things + now transferred the ???Pound Symbol???25 that should have arrived at the end of March. The net result will be that my haridon??? a/c with be ???Pound Symbol???25 overdrawn I suppose. The home mail is not a cheerfull one this week as it brings the new of Aunt Rhoda's death suddenly after an operation. Poor Uncle Wallace. Spent the early afternoon writting home Then after ira??? we climbed Tukht-i-Suliman a scraggy sort of hill 6,200ft-high from the top of which we got a very good view of the city - and the poplace. As Sumaga??? itself is 5,000ft it wasn't quite such a climb as it looks, We found it qute sweaty though. We got back about 7.0.
