Wednesday Feb 23 Had parts I & II of the Kitchener Test today. I.e., the 15 mule march and the attack with ball ammun. The march was 15 miles as near as it could possibly be worked. We had Reveille at 5.0 and my fellows had all the work cut out to get on to Battn Parade at 7.15. We did it though. We moved off at 7.45 and went straight along the Grand Trunk Road past the Fort. DIAGRAM Then we worked back a bit and came round to the Fort again then straight out through Misrail and through the E. Surrey lines at West Ridge, across the Ranges and out towards ??? We assembled at the Junction of the Sewain? & Bokna? Roads. There we got our orders. The ideas were that a Brigade was advancing through Pindi in a N.W. direction and got information that some tribesmen were holding the ridge A. 1/4 mile NW of Bokna. The Brigade then put us & the N. Staffs
