Thursday Jan. 27. Spent the day looking over equipment and Spare Parts and making out indents for deficiencies. I shall be glad to get straight! Friday January 28 Did a little training in the morning then discussed the Service Section @ 11.0 and drew over new Saddlery. The Reserve Section then carried on as the Guns. Service Section paraded again at 1/30 and we went along to watch the Surreys do Practice 13. It was not as great a success as it might have been. From 3.0 to 4/30 I was with the O.M.S. going through wants for stuff we need to complete. Slacked in eve. after a little "shopping". Saturday January 29. Service Section spent the morning putting Saddlery together and getting the Stove Tent into something like order. The Reserve were on the guns. A satisfactory morning on the whole. Rode with Somerwell in the afternoon. Pinute??? is a jolly nice spot. Very well laid out. Practically all bungalows of course stand on their own grounds, there are no large lines of shops but just batches of 3 or 4. The roads are wide and all planted with
