40 friends of Leonel Hewlett. The lady (Mrs???Haves) used to live in the arrow and so he got to know them. It is curious how we kmeet people in trains out here. "The" was a Commander Q.N. on duty in Indian waters somewhere. It was amusing to see him pack up and down his deck with the inevitable roll, at each station! At Jubbelpore we moved next door to the carriage now inhabited only by ???Lesli & Mitchell, who had shared our adventurous journey. We have placidly and ??? more adventures until at 2.0 am on. Sunday, Dec 19 We bade them a fond farewell at Moghal Serai; There we had a cup of tea while waiting for our connection (2.0 am!). This eventually arrived and we settled down to get what sleep wecould until we neared Dinapore about 6.0. It was chilly doing the 3 mile drive to the Station, but there was rarely a scene of homecoming for which we forgave much. We found "Education" a veritable rabbit ???.
