Wed. 14. Jul. 15.] At Delhi we had half an hour to wait so we improved the shining hour with Mango Ice! It was also interesting watching the exchange of mails. Several trains seem to meet from various parts just about 9.0 at Delhi & to go off in as many different directions as they came from. I really begin to wonder that letters ever get to their destination. the mail van was borribly made quali??? in our train & after filling it, they had to use two empty carraiges??? and a mail van. We left Delhi at 9.33. and promptly went to bed. Thur. 15. Jul. 15. Woke up some where in the regions of Roorkee??? at about 6.30. We both of us managed to get a jolly good sleep. At Lhaksar (6.55) we got some ??? Hazri???. We then commenced to dress. I think we had got to Kansrao??? (9.10) before I had finished. The scenery from Lhaksar to Debra Dun is a tremendous improvement. It is something like Wales. After plains, plains nothing but plains, it is a great relief. Also I saw the first hill I have seen since December. It was too far away to photograph or I would have done so. At 10.40 we reached Debra Dun & promptly reaided the refreshment Room.
