210 Tue May 11 game them rousing cheers. The rest of the evening I spent at the club. Fisher went to the station with his draft & came back again as there are not 1st class coaches on the train they are going by, he is going by Mail in the morning. Wed. May 12. Two funerals tonight. One was an old ????ry Veteran the other a Ghur. He was reported dangerously ill about a week ago but seemed to pull round. I suppose he must have had a relapse. Nevertheless we had our Riding tonight & did a canter for the first time. I hung on like grim death to the saddle first shot but seemed?? ?? & felt happier. Thur May 13. We rose at the unearthly hour of 5.0 this morning & gave Fisher a very good send-off -- as far as "Emotions???" was concerned. I wonder when we shall see him next. Spent most of the morning writing. Had a game of Tennis in the afternoon. Fri. May 14. Riding School as usual 5.30. More cantering. Sat. May 15 Another gunner died last night -- Sun. Consequently Riding was scratched. Was feeling rather off colour tonight. The reason I think was that I had an Express wire at 12.0 yesterday needing an Express answer. To collect data I had to visit the Punjabis & everyone else in
