Nov 29 An Effusion at Sea. A capital ship for an ocean trip Is the Dilowana HMT: No wind that blew ??? her crew, but the troops felt much at sea; And for from land on which to stand, Soon any man did pray, For we looped the loop upon the poop And fell/slid down the main hatchway. When we set sail our heads did quail, under many shocks & ??? But we didn't quake when we had to take Breknocks for ??? Their Colonel adored was addressed as “The Lord” From which fact much fun arose, For when asked to name their journey's aim They'd say “The Lord only knows!” Some felt quite queer from S'Hampton Pier And the most only lasted a day And our spirits fell from heaven to – well when ??? with comfort might stay. But the Sunday showed with its hammocks That a captain due tribute must pay For on quarter-deck – a ghostly wreck lay the office of the day. The officers sale in cabins of state And dined as they were ??? with knives & forks whose number baulks Description in poem brief.
