Fri. Nov. 6 "Gib" which there was a good new he gain the company a hall, which gave me a chance of getting a photo as well as he. We got back a little late for Lunch but that didn't matter. We spent the first part of the aft. distributing things which we had bought for the men to their purchasers. The aft. was the first time that any shore leave has been given to the men: so we undertook to buy things for them yesterday. When that was finished Bush I and Hickling set off to find with of the 8th - their O.C.M.G. - who promised lastnight to take us over all the galleries. We had some little difficulty in finding him: as he lives in sucha weird place. The first part of his address is "casruatis" ??? which is the barracks close to the N. End of Gib. From there we had to begin climbing up the rock. We eventually found him at the entrance to a cave looking place which was really one of the galleries. These galleries are like long tunnels and they run all over the north part of the rock. There are about three levels with communications between each. They were built after the famous seige (sic). There are guns placed in them on the face of the rock, and there are several trenches absolutely beautiful placed. There are about 20 machine guns up there and some of them absolutely c??? and the road in from Spain. I should be really sorry for anyone who attemtped to get in their way. There
