Sun Oct 25. Church Parade as usual 8.25. Our Brass Band played us down & accompanied the Service. Bartholemew took it and gave us a short farewell sermon. Messed around doing odd jobs in the morning. Had Lunch at the Vicarage but went to the Harrises to tea. Bade them farewell and gave them a St Lukas Ludoz?? Vase which Porter gave me for them when I was on leave. They were awfully pleased with it. Vicar gave us a farewell Sermon He wisely continued his last week's farewell. But I think that this time it will be a real one as we are now officially due to leae on Thursday. The men are rather excited to day over the Royal Review to-morrow. Sittingbourne. Mon. Oct 26. Paraded at 6.30 on the Bath Parade Ground for Second Drill. (officers only) Soon picked it up. Dismissed at 7.0 for Brekker. By the time I got back to the Vicarage Martin had gone Conseq. of Course I had to clean my own kit. Just got this done in time for Parade at 8.50. Discovered to my horror when I got on Parade that I had forgotten to Shave, so I absolutely "hared" back & shaved in absolutely record time! Reached the Bath Parade Ground at 9.15. Had a short pratice of Presenting Arms re? & at 9.40 moved off for the Recreation Ground. 100th were already there. By 10.15 we were all in position, standing waiting for H.M.
