292 Thur July 23. Saw the result of an exciting accident on our way home from tennis. The Wembley in N.D.C.??? have just bought a new Motor Fire Engine. It was out on a ??? at trip this morning with Merryweather's man instructing two would-be-???. One of these latter in turning the corner at the bottom of the Hill from the Preston Tea House apparently lost control. Result he ran right up the bank on the by rhand-side & overturned. The track of the near which??? was thus:- ???DIAGRAM??? 293 [Thur July 23 He looked as if he had taken the corner alright & Him??? did not straighten out quite enough. Two of them were thrown clear - uninjured. The driver was pinned by the steering wheel & damaged ??? badly intensely we saw them working on the thing at 12.0 until was 4.30 before they got it on its legs again. Then it was so slightly damage that they were able to drive it off!
