240 Fri. May 29 just before it. The whole thing went off very nicely. Finished by 4.30. Kept an even. chapel at 6.30 & then rushed up to the station to meet the Pater Mater & Nellie by the 7.3. Went straight off to Oxenford Hall. Had dinner with them there then went on to the Ugger. It was the Cambridge Visitors Debate to-night as the Entente Cordiale. not bad. Sat. May 30 The people came into John's Gardens this a.m. I met them there at 11.0 - after Locke. We wandered in to my rooms then had a bit of a walk, then back into the rooms again for lunch -- Salmon, Devonshire cream & Peaches. Oh my battels! Went on the River in the aft. Just went to the Backwater, had tea then Rollers & back. Dined at Oxenford Hall. Went to theatre in eve. Irish Nat. Theatre Co "Workhorse Ward" a comedy very good & "Mixed Marriage" also good - but a tragedy. Sun May 31 Went to the 7.45 then the 9.15. Went to Cowley with the People at 11.0. Nice as usual - but they don't give *you* a look in there a bit. Lunched in Coll (alone). Did a College crawl in aft. Saw a bit of Ch. Ch. and Merton CCC & then
