Wed. Apr 15 also needless to say I exceeded the limit. Pat was pacing on the Torpedo Precision & I followed on his Alcyon at a speed he estimated at 35 mph. The T.P. was "all out" & it was down-hill, so I don't think it is an over estimate. We got my machine again & rode back without adventure arriving about 1.0. In the aft we went through Blackwall Tunnel, Deptford & Woolwich to the top of Bexley Hill and back the same way. After tea (7.0) we played whist teaching (or trying to) a French girl who came to-day to stay with Joyce. Thurs April 16 Did not go far in morning. In fact I think Mile End was the limit of our peregrinations! After lunch I left for home. Pat accompanied me to Aldgate whence I got on to Liverpool St & thence by the 3.20 (through) home. Spent the eve. in a walk with Pater & Mater & in work. Fri. Apr 17 Worked more or less all day
