Sun. Mar 29 Hill at 11.0. Fr. Joyce dreary -- as usual. Mr Vet (of Arnhem) came out in aft which we spent talking. As it was wet we did not go to church in eve, after seeing Vet off, but had music instead. Mon. Mar 30 Pater brought home his Bank a/c books on Sat. Had another go at them to-day at home. Got within 2/5. went up to the office in aft & got hold of the old passbook where I discovered that the 2/5 was made up of +10/= -8/= and sundry other small items. Result exact balance. Met Mrs. Newton & Pat at Holborn Circus at 6.50 & went on to St. Alban's together (Mater arrived at the office about 6.30) Church crammed again. Cacey as usual good. Seely (War Minister) Sir John French & Sir Ewart have resigned. Asquith has taken on the war office himself (in addition to Prime Minister &c) & has to seek re-election!!!! Tue Mar 31 Dixon arrived about 3.50 to-day went for a walk around the hill after tea via Sudbury Ct Rd & in evening visited the Cinema while Mater & Pater went over to Harlesden.
