Sat. Jan. 3 Palace. We left the house about 8.50 and got to the car 9.5 - first of course! However we pitched into the others well when they arrived. We reached the Ice Palace about 10.20 and left at 1.0. Harvey met us there. I had a very enjoyable 2½ hours there but cannot honestly say that I was a very much better skater at 1.0 than I was at 10.20 which is not saying much considering it was my first time on ice. We lazed the aft away in front of the fire. After that I saw Harvey off by the car and in the evening we had just settled down to play cards when Bessy Stones and Harry walked in. We had a pleasant chat and decided to go with them to the Ice Palace on Monday. Sun. Jan. 4 No 8.0 at St. Paul's (Heaton Moor) this a.m. so I could not go to it. Pretty slack isn't it?
